Henrietta’s Kids is a community-led initiative that provides back-to-school support to elementary students in underserved communities through grade-specific school supply kits and uniform assistance. The initiative was created in honor of the Founder’s grandmother, Henrietta, whose compassion, generosity and unwavering belief in the potential of every child continue to inspire this mission.

Henrietta’s Kids serves elementary school students (grades K–5) in underserved communities that may lack access to the essential supplies and uniforms needed to begin the school year prepared and confident.

Henrietta’s Kids provides grade-specific school supply kits tailored to the needs of each grade level, along with uniform and essential clothing assistance for eligible children and families in need. Our goal is to help remove practical financial barriers so students can begin the school year prepared, confident, and ready to learn.

Henrietta’s Kids is currently operating in its pilot phase and is not yet a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. At this stage, contributions are not tax-deductible. We are intentionally building the foundation of the organization as we work toward formal nonprofit status.

Henrietta’s Kids is currently in its foundational pilot phase, where we are intentionally building programs, partnerships, and operational systems before expanding long term. This phase allows us to learn directly from the community, strengthen our impact model, and build a sustainable foundation for future growth.

Absolutely. We welcome partnerships with businesses, schools, faith communities, universities, and civic organizations. Partners can support HK through supply drives, sponsorships, volunteer support, fundraising efforts, or collaborative community events. We’d love to explore ways to work together.

Families are connected to Henrietta’s Kids through school partnerships, community organizations, referrals, and local outreach efforts. During the pilot phase, we are working with a limited number of partner schools and community contacts to identify and support families in need.

Henrietta’s Kids was built from personal experience, compassion, and community care. We focus on providing grade-specific school supply kits instead of generic supply bags so children receive what they actually need for their classroom experience. We also provide uniform support, helping address two of the most common back-to-school financial burdens families face. Our approach is intentionally personal, thoughtful, and community-centered.

Yes. We welcome in-kind contributions of new school supplies, new uniforms and essential clothing, and other approved items that support our mission. To help us coordinate contributions and ensure items align with our current needs, please contact us before arranging a drop-off.

Contributions are securely processed through Stripe and deposited into a dedicated account managed exclusively for Henrietta’s Kids. Funds are used solely to support the organization’s mission, including purchasing school supplies and related program expenses. We maintain detailed financial records and are committed to responsible stewardship and transparency.
